Bainbridge International Launches New DIAX2 Multi-Directional Laminate Sailcloth

Bainbridge International is pleased to announce the introduction of DIAX2, the new range of performance laminates developed specifically for cross cut panel configurations.

 

DIAX2 uses Bainbridge International’s latest scrim technology to produce super efficient constructions with flat, untwisted fibre and a smooth surface that can only be achieved when fibres have virtually no crimp. This means that the scrim is ‘formed’ and not woven - the process bonds flat ribbons of fibre into a lattice: No weaving, no crimp, less stretch on the threadline.

 

On average DIAX2 reduces the cloth wastage by 15% and reduces the number of panels by up to 70% allowing the sailmaker to provide durable, reliable and better value sails. Also, less seams allow for a smoother sail shape.

 

The unique alloy adhesive system used throughout the range dramatically improves UV protection. DIAX2 laminates produce extremely efficient, low stretch, light sails that are perfect in almost all racing applications.
