Bainbridge International Introduces New DIAX2 Race Range of Performance Laminates 04/10/2007 DIAX2 Race takes the DIAX concept to the next level by incorporating multiple layers of fibre. Two DIAX scrims are combined with a fill orientated 0/90 base layer to provide six primary threadlines. This allows fibres to be aligned to load paths without the cost or complexity of tri-radial panel layout or flipping luff panels. In a DIAX2 sail, primary leech loads are managed by the 90º fill fibre, while at the luff, primary loads are handled by the 65º DIAX scrim. At the base of the sail, mainsheet and vang loads are handled by the 45º DIAX, while the warp resists outhaul tension as well as adding stability and durability to the whole sail.
Features include: · Multi-directional Twaron/Technora load bearing fibres: 90º Twaron fill, 65º Twaron DIAX and 45º Technora DIAX form a matrix in the primary load directions in cross cut sails. · Alloy UV resistance: Our unique Alloy adhesive system is used throughout the range to enhance UV resistance. · Technora Warp: The higher flex strength of Technora is utilised in the warp and the 45º DIAX to extend sail life. · Double DIAX: The two DIAX scrims have fibre running in both directions so no need to flip luff panels.
